That came from a blog “mynewlifeat51” which I chanced upon recently.
There is a similar sentiment among the poems in “Michael Rosen’s A to Z. The best children’s poetry from Agard to Zephaniah”. I didn’t find all my favourite childhood or children’s poets – no A. A. Milne or Walter de la Mare – but that is because the poets selected are contemporary, all bar one, still living when the book was compiled. There is a bit of a cheat with some of the letters (you may be able to guess) but overall I enjoyed reading and reading aloud this selection enough to award it four stars.
